This month I read 'Crazy Busy' by Kevin DeYoung. It is a (mercifully) short book, roughly 120 pages, about a (really) big problem. How often have we said/heard others day, “I'm too busy”?
In his book, Kevin DeYoung, explains why he could be the worst person on earth to write this book or how maybe being an extremely busy person could actually make him the best candidate to write such a book. Some of the chapters in this book cover: 'Three Dangers to Avoid', 'What God Does Not Expect You to Do', 'Setting Priorities' and 'The One Thing You Must Do'. However, this is not a self-help book. I really enjoyed reading this book because the author wasn't criticising his readers for being busy people, rather Kevin DeYoung was actually sympathising with us and I found myself agreeing with some of what he said. One thing that really stood out and challenged me was this, 'If someone recorded your life for a week and then showed it to a group of strangers, what would they conclude is the one thing you must get done every day? Folding the laundry? Cleaning the house? Catching up on e-mails? Posting to Facebook? Mowing the lawn?' I found this quite thought-provoking. - SOPHIE xx
