Just a reminder that this Monday is the only Bank Holiday of the year when we open!! 10-4 especially because the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza is here once again. I can't believe the years pass so quickly!

A new Christian film GOD'S NOT DEAD 2 (PG) is opening at Llandudno Junction Cineworld this coming Friday, 29th April showing at 18:25 on Friday, at 13:00 on Sunday and at 18:10 on Bank Holiday Monday. The UK release is being sponsored by Christian Concern. I have heard it said (by a Christian YouTube movie reviewer who doesn't normally like Christian movies) that it is a great movie, and you are not a proper Christian if you don't go and see it!
- SOPHIE xx - Carrie Lloyd. Confessions of a twenty-first-century world. 'The author explores healthy relationships, singleness and dating writing as a kind of chatty, friendly big sister who is imparting her words of wisdom. Carrie manages to beautifully bridge the gap between our sex-obsessed culture and orthodox Christian attitudes towards relationships. She has lived in the former and makes a great case for the latter, without sounding judgemental. She articulates the joy of a relationship with Jesus, and its vast superiority to any wrong-headed romantic relationship, in a unique and inspiring way. The book expresses a modern and girly femininity, bypassing the aggressive tone of some female writers. The author does not have laissez-faire attitudes to sex and sexuality, nor the subdued, clipped tones of some more conservative attitudes to womanhood.'
(review article from Christianity magazine, September 2015) We currently stock this book reduced to £9.99, in our 'Relationships' catergory. The story of Pastor Emmanuel Nnyanzi of Mbarara and Parental Care Ministries Uganda, written by Mary Weeks Millard. I currently hold the title of 'youngest ever Uganda team member'. I visited in 2009 and will be returning this year. After which I will become 'joint youngest team member' as another 9-year-old will be joining us on the trip with his parents.
- SOPHIE xx It's coffee week! I know there's a lot of coffee fans out there, so I thought I'd show you some Beacon Books coffee merchandise.... - SOPHIE xx
I read something when I was volunteering in our shop the other week. I learnt that today is a Day of Prayer for all connected with the Christian Resource Trade. And I figure that must include us! So please just spare a minute to pray for us today. Even if it's while you are doing something else, like cleaning your teeth! If you don't know what to say in prayer, then you can just thank God that His Word, the Bible, is still the best selling book of all time. - SOPHIE xx
One of our managers has been upstairs and put together a selection of books - manager's recommendation! Well worth checking out ;-) - SOPHIE xx
