During Fairtrade Fortnight, campaigners are being encouraged to inspire Big Fairtrade Breakfasts in their community - and to wake others up to the challenges facing farmers and workers. So I have decided that every day for the next two weeks I am going to post a picture of a grocery item that we sell, which I see as suitable for consumption at breakfast time! - SOPHIE xx
P.S. Happy Leap Year!

I have been a mum for almost thirty years.......sounds like a bit of a life sentence doesn't it? But in reality, it has been an amazing journey, adventure, challenge, thrill and times of highs and lows that not everyone has the privilege of having.
So, at this time when we are all thinking about "Mothers' Day" I want to take a moment to think of those whose own mothers were not able to really be the mothers they would have wanted or deserved. This is a burden that can be difficult to carry. I also want to take a moment to think of those women who have wanted to have children but for whatever the reason this has not happened. For some it is the pain of infertility and for others it is the consequence of seeking to walk God's way and remain single and celibate while trusting God for His plan for their lives. So while we are advertising our cards and gifts for "Mothers' Day", we also honour those whose dreams have not yet, and may never be, realised. When I think of them, the title of a book by Adrian Plass comes to mind: "A Smile on the Face of God." So, Valentine's Day has happened now.... we're looking forward to Mothering Sunday on 6th March next. We have created a special display featuring books by popular authors in store for anyone who needs a few ideas on what to treat their Mum to this year. We also have a range of cards to make sure that Mums feel special, appreciated and loved.
- SOPHIE xx We have all our Easter stock out now. There's no shortage of chocolate, whether you're after eggs, stars or angels! Like usual we will be observing Good Friday (25th March) and Easter Monday (28th March) by remaining closed.
- SOPHIE xx I'm aware of the fact that Lent starts soon, and a lot of people like to give up chocolate. So, I've just put up a chocolately recipe for you to try out. I have tried it before using different hot chocolates and coffees, it doesn't taste as good. Don't bother trying. Stick to supporting us! If you feel like writing to haribo while you're at it to complain that their marshmallows aren't fairtrade, please do! - SOPHIE xx
