A FOND FAREWELL

31/8/2020

Back in January we wrote a blog which started with the words 2020 will be an interesting year! and it went on to mention that we would be saying to goodbye to some of our paid part-time members of staff (we weren't being prophetic seeing visions of the 'interesting' COVID-19 times we find ourselves in).

Now we just want to acknowledge and honour the three ladies who have left/are soon leaving us.
Pam Kirkham

Pam has been a manager at the shop for 18 years and is now retiring at the same time as her husband retires from being a minister at a local church.
She says 'It has been a privilege to be a listening ear, to share a prayer, to offer advice on a suitable Bible for an occasion, to find just the right card that suits what the customer wants to say, to find a CD with that favourite song on it, or a book I saw last week – it was yellow! The personnel may change here, but we plan with God's providence to continue the work. Thank you.'
Jenni Spree

Picture
Jenni helped Marian Whitaker start Kingdom Krafts/Beacon Books in September 2001 and volunteered every week since then. After all this time, she decided to leave and trusts that God has something new on the way for her.

Jenni says she will miss seeing the regular customers and visitors to the town who she has come to know and will also miss being able to help people find just the right thing they wanted.
Emma Watkins (formerly West)
Picture
Emma moved from Rhyl to Llandudno a few years ago to become a part-time manager for us and she worked here for four years. During that time, a couple of years ago, Emma met James, she's now married him and moved away. Today she and James live in the Cambridge area.

Emma's favourite things to do were re-organising the displays in store and finding new suppliers of high quality fairtrade products.
Come in to meet our new managers, Colette and Claire.

Current opening hours: Thursday - Saturday 9:30am-5pm
