Yesterday was Read A Book Day! On September 6th we celebrate National Read a Book Day! This day is in place to help us switch off the real-world issues we deal with every day and relax, by slipping into the sweet bliss of a fiction or nonfiction book. Books can give mental escape and release us into a world that is all our own.
Books are powerful, and while Read a Book Day may seem like any other random holiday, its impact stretches beyond merely encouraging you to read. Much like an unread book, it’s brimming with possibilities! The best way to celebrate is to set aside some time, sit down and read a book! However, if you want to add to the celebration, you can find a friend or loved one to read to. Reading is always a fun thing to do, but it is even better when done with someone you love. So, whether you revisit an old favourite or discover a new literary treasure from our shop, take some time to celebrate the holiday and read a book (even if we are a day late - better late than never!).
