Beacon Books and its sister charity Kingdom Krafts Fair Trade Centre have been operating since 2002. We started out of a desire to help people in poverty to regain their dignity, to earn a living and to begin to plan for the future where it had seemed only bleak and hopeless before.

"I ALWAYS WANT TO GO HOME WITH THE WHOLE GORGEOUS SHOP!" |
"It's not easy to find a Christian bookshop these days - and with such variety. What a lovely place!" The need for Christian literature and materials to be readily available was also one of our passions, and we have seen amazing answers to prayer over the years as the business has developed into what it is today.
"A much needed shop in North Wales, good choice of Christian books, music , and cards for every occasion." In 2008, Beacon Books was awarded the UK "Small Retailer of the Year" award in recognition of its achievement in having started from virtually nothing to becoming a thriving, relevant business. Kingdom Krafts Fair Trade Centre, which is housed in the same premises, has a wide range of Fair Trade food, gifts, clothing, stationery and household goods.
"Best cup of tea I've had all week!" |
"I discovered the best hot chocolate in the world here!" "An excellent place to source fair trade products" Two local churches in Llandudno, Emmanuel Christian Centre and Gloddaeth United Church, partner in facilitating the shop function and grow. There are two part-time managers and 10 or so volunteers, making up the team.
A cup of Fair Trade tea or coffee, along with a delicious home-baked cake while you make up your mind what to buy is always on hand! "Whenever I visit this shop I always find just what I'm looking for." |
